IPPNY Applauds Selection of Stephen Whitley as New NYISO President and CEO

Albany, New York 6/4/08 - The Independent Power Producers of New York, Inc (IPPNY), today applauded the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) for selecting Stephen Whitley as its president and CEO.

IPPNY is pleased that the NYISO has selected an individual with a wealth of experience and whose reputation in the energy industry precedes him, said IPPNY President and CEO Gavin Donohue. For more than 30 years, Mr. Whitley has leant his expertise to the Tennessee Valley Authority and, most recently, the ISO New England, and we look forward to working with him to help maintain and enhance New Yorks competitive energy markets, which continue to be viewed as a model for the country.
